Well, That Didn’t Take Long

Well, I have great news: I have finally finished recording all of the tracks for the new solo piano CD. To be honest, I think the best part about recording a CD is being done with it. No more tweaking and arranging and muttering.

The next step is have the tracks mastered and work on the CD design. And since I doubt the CD-buying public will be impressed with the way I can scribble with a Sharpie, I will be working with a local designer to come up with a good design. And no, there will be no roses or unicorns on the cover.

Um, maybe on the back.

Geez, are you kidding??

Hmm, looks kinda fake

I’m finishing up my new CD and Indie has been keeping me company during the recording process.  Since she’s a dog, Indie is usually content to just lay next to me while I record relaxing, melodic, yet accessible solo piano music (How was that? Subtle? Was it subtle? Thought so.)

Anyway, while I was recording yesterday evening, Indie woke up with a start, cocked her head to one side and asked, “Is that passage a little rushed? You might want to listen to the playback.” At first I thought, “Holy Crap! A talking dog!”  Then I listened to the playback, and wouldn’t you know it? She was right.  I tossed her a dog treat, said “good dog” and she resumed her nap as I re-recorded the offending musical passage.

True story.

Who’s The Loser Now?

OK, where was I?  Oh yes, I spent the last several months NOT WRITING.  I know, that’s an interesting method of engaging people.  I can hear people saying, “Hey, you should check out the blog of that guy who doesn’t write!  It’s off the hook!”  At least , I think that’s what people would say if “off the hook” was still used in conversation.

No, I spent the last several months writing music, recording on a solo piano CD (more on that later.)  Most of my actual writing time has been spent on my Facebook Status Updates.  That’s all fine, but when Facebook eventually becomes a cliché or morphs into SkyNet, I’ll be thankful I have my dinky li’l blog as a record of my incoherent ramblings.

Anyway, I’m back and I’ll be writing about all sorts of stuff of absolutely no interest to anyone except my wife and hypothetical future baby.  Feel free to check it out, but don’t touch the wallpaper.

Oh, and I’ll probably change the design of the theme, because…meh
